Free Comic Book Day at
GROUND ZERO!

May 4th, 2002. The Spider-Man movie is breaking box office records around the country. Not coincendentally, the comic industry stages its' most ambitious promotion ever. Four publishers and thousands of retailers cooperate to host "FREE COMIC BOOK DAY." To get the word out, Ground Zero gives away thousands of coupons at the theater where Spider-Man plays as well as local schools. The result is a long line of people who have but one thought on their minds: "They still make comic books?"

Throughout the day, Ground Zero not only gave away stacks of Free Comics, but also signed people up for drawings for movie passes, graphic novels and other prize like things.

...And at the end of the day, Dave reminds us that there are more important things to do with comics that don't even involve Mylar Bags.

So there you have it. Comic books! Free! The most powerful words in the English language
( after "Kracka-Boom" of course!! )
