The record breaking crowds who went to see Spider-Man 2 showed that the hunger for comic book hero's is still going strong. After the success of the first two Free Comic Book Day's, this year saw the event move to the middle of the summer. It may have been a holiday weekend, but comic fans and curious bystanders still flocked to Ground Zero to partake in the festivities and of course, grab free stuff!

Could anyone forget Pat Boone's rendition of "Crazy Train" blasting from the stereo while Ground Zero staff asked comic book trivia questions and gave away door prizes?

So there it is for the third straight year: Comic books! Free! Still the most powerful words in the English language
( after "Kracka-Boom" of course!! )
