PLAY HERO CLIX!
1st and 3rd Weekends at Ground Zero, beginning at 1:30pm
Ground Zero Comics hosts Hero Clix Tournament play on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month. The format will change for each tournament, alternating between Marvel HeroClix, DC HeroClix and occasionally Indy HeroClix.

NOTE: We are now holding most HeroClix tournaments on Saturdays!

Free Comic Book Day Tournament!
This Saturday is Free Comic Book Day!! Since any self respecting HeroClix player should be attending we'll be hosting another DC HeroClix event. This tournament is 500 points - figures must be from legal DC HeroClix sets (but your team does not have to be composed of DC Crisis figures).

Upcoming Events:

Saturday, May 3rd - Crisis Week Eight (restricted, 500 points, DC figures only)

Sunday, May 11th - Crisis Week Nine ("floor event", 600 points, 75% Crisis)

Saturday, May 17th - Crisis Week Ten (Unresrticted DC, 600 points)

This is how it works: The cost to play in our HeroClix Tournaments is $3.00. Everytime you buy a regular pack of HeroClix at our store, have us stamp the receipt and save it. Each pack of HeroClix that you buy is worth $1.00 off of this entry charge, up to $2.00 of the addmission fee.
Plus, you can save an additional $1.00 buy registering in advance on the WizKids site for the tournament.
So if you buy your HeroClix from us and register in advance, then the cost for playing in our tournament is Zero! Nothing! (That's Free! )
Now, the receipts for HeroClix packs are good for two months and you can only use them for your own admission (not your buddy's) and you have to buy them before the tournament day (in other words, you can't come in and buy a couple of packs on the day of the tournament and have it count for the addmission fee for that tournament. Any packs you buy on tournament day will count, however, towards any future tournaments.)
We've tried to make this as painless (and cheap) as possible. Frankly, we needed to reward the players who support the shop by purchasing their HeroClix through us.

1000 points! Now we know why tournaments this big are not encouraged! Galactus just stomped on everything in sight, chewing up teams that would normally have done fine! In the end, Kaitlin won the whole thing, even though she was disapointed that she couldn't hide Galactus in the kitchen!

It was originally Ron Avery's suggestion: A 200 point tournament where you couldn't have any characters over 49 points. Everyone thought that Ron and Ryan would dominate the play, but then Michael Seigler comes along and cruises to his first victory in many tournaments. Aaron and Cheryl Butler now have "his and hers" Fellowship awards.

It was the much anticipated Fantastic Forces Marquee. Josh pulled two uniques out of his three packs but still fell in the final round to Ryan, who put to rest all the grumbling about his use (and missuse) of tricky rules and con artists. The first fellowship name drawn for the list was Cheryl Butler, who also snagged one ofthe Fantastic Forces posters.

Complete Results for the July 9th DC Tournament:
No Cosmic Orb this time, but then, the heavy hitters of the DC Universe don't need one. Ryan coasted through the first two rounds and it looked like he would take the tourney with ease. However, he didn't count on the "new" Aaron, who had just completed the "Cheryl Butler Game Intensity Course" (Stare down your opponent in just five strenuous lessons!). Despite entering the round more than 400 points behind Aaron, he managed to pull out a very narrow tournament win.
Kyle Daniel took this weeks Fellowship Award for bringing a team with Booster Gold and Blue Beetle.
1st Place: Aaron Butler
2nd: Ryan Angell, 3rd: Harold Vincent, 4. Brent Hartman, 5. Cheryl Butler, 6. Michael Seigler, 7. Kyle Daniel (Fellowship), 8. Stephen O'Neal, 9. Payton Galvez, 10. Josh Perkins, 11. Joseph Sanchez, 12. Kaitlin Seigler

Complete Results for the June 25th "Cosmic Orb" Tournament:
An orb of unknown origin falls to Earth and the hunt was on. Whoever got to the orb and possessed it gained ... The Power Cosmic! Should've been a great setting for everyone's piddly little 300 point teams - but somebody had to mess it up and bring a Sentinal!
Cosmic Sentinal = Slammin' Shovelfulls of Serious Smackdown!
Congrats to Ryan for taking his first tourney.
1st Place: Ryan Angell
2nd: Ron Avery (Fellowship), 3rd: Josh Perkins, 4. Joseph Sanchez, 5. Aaron Butler, 6. Cheryl Butler, 7. Tiffany Jones, 8. Harold Vincent, 9. Kyle Daniel, 10. Michael Seigler, 11. Kaitlin Seigler, 12. Jorge Yepez

Complete Results for the May 28th Unrestricted Blowout:
Teenage Mutant Turtles! The Tick! Chairface Chippendale! Buffy The Vampire Slayer! There were lots of ... ahem ... cutomized figures in this one. The highlight (at least for me) was the first round matchup of the Tick, American Maid, Der Fleidermaus and other Tick heros VS Chairface Chippendale and the Ticks most vile villains!
1st Place: Cheryl Butler
2nd: Harold Vincent, 3rd: Ryan Angell, 4. Aaron Butler, 5. Ron Avery, 6. Kaitlin Seigler, 7. Shane Hartman, 8. Josh Perkins, 9. Michael Seigler, 10. Shasta Hartman

Complete Results for the May 21st Booster Draft:
We almost didn't have 8 players for this one. Somehow the judge was talked into playing, which filled out the even number. Despite a little early confusion the draft went smoothly, with a Giant Man, Longshot and N'Astirh all pulled from the packs. Your judge surprised everyone by sweeping through the first two opponants and having the third on the ropes before, well ... throwing it all away by waltzing right into the line of fire!
1st Place: Cheryl Butler
2nd: David Seigler, 3rd: Aaron Butler, 4. Harold Vincent, 5. Michael Seigler, 6. Ryan Angell, 7. Kyle Daniel, 8. Kaitlin Seigler
