For three days in November, Comic fans trekked to Arlington for the first ever Wizard World Texas. Since the demise of the Fantasy Fair in 1996, no major comic convention has been able to establish itself in this area. Some wondered if Wizard World would live up to the hype. Few were disappointed.
Fans who bought tickets in advance even got a special variant cover edition of Wolverine: The End #1!

What impressed me the most was how much there was for kids to do. I went expecting to do more business and planned on the kids being bored. Instead, they had a great time and can't wait for next year.

Wiz Kids was one of the major sponsers of Wizard World and fans got to learn various Wiz Kids games, such as Mage Knight, Mech Warrior and Hero Clix.

I hadn't seen Mike Crowell in years. He used to work at Star Books and Comics in Lubbock. Now he is the inker on Hedge Knight. He was not only greeting fans, he did free sketches for anyone who asked.

There were a number of great comic creators in attendance, including George Perez, Kurt Busiek, J.G. Jones, Michael Turner and many more.
